Thoughts on Princeton Professor Cornel West and his egregious attack on the President. Does the intellectual really have any ideas?

I’ve decided to break one of my rules regarding this blog and post an article Today about US Politics. Living in the UK means I don’t know a great deal about US Politics, so I generally do not post Dr Lant’s articles in this category. But today I’ve made an exception for three reasons:

  1. I have a hand in researching this article for Dr Lant this morning
  2. I really like Barack Obama
  3. I didn’t know, until today, that Professor Cornel West was also in the Matrix film sequels

What I also like about this article is that it highlights something I’ve been saying for a long time. I agree that there has been for centuries and still is a racial issue in many countries, but it seems to be that the racial issue is perpetuated by the very people it is about, who must have a Cause to fight for. They seem to have no purpose in life if they don’t have a cause to fight about.

I don’t have a problem with any race, or colour, or creed, or religion, so I’m happy to accept that everyone is different and just live my life the way I want to.

But I do get fed up having all these issues thrust in my face every time something happens to upset or annoy someone in one of these groups. By going on about it, all that happens is that it gets more and more people upset and perpetuates the issue, instead of just letting it fad into memory. We should all be working to find a solution to the issues rather than complaining about them all the time.

I really recommend reading this article today, which can be found here: Articles / US Politics / Cornel West Attacks Barack Obama

These are the sort of comments that do a good job of handling this very controversial issue
