Not all of us are in the enviable position to be able to attend or even participate in auctions, especially those that Dr Jeffrey Lant, CEO Worldprofit, mentions in his article today. Sotheby’s and Christie’s in New York, Rome, Paris, London, Amsterdam… Bukowskis in Stockholm… the Dorotheum in Vienna. These are the auctions usually dealing with Fine Art, Paintings, Sculptures etc., these are not normal everyday objects we all buy!
But nonetheless his article today is worthy of reading even if you are just going down to your local auction house to look for general household items. Auctions in the UK have become popular in recent years with TV programs like, Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic, showing just how much you could get for your ‘junk’.
But if you are going to buy, you need to be able to distinguish the ‘junk’ from the ‘bargains’ or even the ‘unknown treasures’! The information in today’s article is the information you need to know, so that you don’t get stung by the dodgy dealers out there.
