We talked in a previous article about monetizing the traffic you generate to your website, using a number of different ways, such as providing affiliate links to other related products and CPA networks.
Adsense is considered as one of the most powerful tool in a website publisher’s arsenal. It enables a person to monetize their websites easily. If used properly, it can generate a very large and healthy income for them. However if you are not using Adsense correctly or maximizing the income you squeeze from it, you are actually leaving a lot of money on the table. Something all people hate doing.
You can start earning money with Adsense easily and quickly and you will be amazed at the results you will be getting in such a short period of time.
Using Adsense effectively and profitably starts with generating traffic. Without a good stream of traffic to your website, any Adsense ads that you place on your website are going to be wasted.
You need to start by writing some quality content articles which are also keyword optimized. If you are good at writing, why not make it work in such a way that you will be earning some extra cash in the process. There are a lot of people searching for specific words when looking for information online and all you need to do is to capitalize on the most profitable ones to include in your articles.
Using the right keywords in your articles is the key to getting the right Adsense ads on your website. When you insert Google’s Adsense code into your website code, Google will place ads on your website in relation to the keywords you are using, or that it sees as relevant to your article or website. Using the wrong keywords can result in Google placing ads for the wrong products and you will not generate any income form the ads.
To ensure you get the right Adsense ads on your website, there are actually three steps to consider before you begin writing your ads and using Adsense effectively.
Use Google’s Adwords Tool to find some popular subjects, keywords or phrases. Select the ones where you think there is a good search volume and has more people clicking through. If you have a Google Adwords account you can also find out how much marketers are paying for each keyword and choose the most profitable one.
You must bear in mind thought that the most profitable keywords are also going to be the ones other marketers are using in their Adsense marketing. In some markets this will not be a problem but in others it may be a problem if too many marketers are targeting those specific keywords.
Once you have decided on the keywords you are going to target, you can start writing original content with keywords from the topics that you have achieved in your search. Take note that search engines are looking for quality in the articles and what you will be writing should keep up with their demands.
Churning out repetitive, non-informative, non-unique articles, over-full with the chosen keywords, will not be looked upon by the search engines favourably and you may find you simply do not get indexed by them. This is not what you want. Make sure your articles have the right amount of keywords and that the content is informative and on topic. Writing unique content is also very important, as the search engines will penalise any duplicate content found by not indexing it.
Quality content site.
When you have written a number of quality articles, you can use them to build a quality content site incorporating Adsense ads that are targeting the subject and keywords of your articles and websites.
The next step in building your content website is in maximizing the placement of your ads.
The proper positioning of your ads should be done with care. Try to position your ads where surfers are most likely to click on them. According to research, the one place that surfers look first when they visit a website is the top left. The reason behind this is not known. But it is mostly likely because some of the most useful search engine results are always at the top of all other rankings. So visitors tend to look in that same place when browsing through other sites.
Along with the correct placement of ads, comes the look of those ads. Don’t crowd them with too much text; leave plenty of white space around them to make them stand out better. Designing your ads to get the most out of them is the subject of an article in its own right, but sticking to the two mentioned will be a good start to get the most from your Adsense ads.
Finally, Adsense has some excellent tracking statistics that allows webmasters and publishers to track their results across a number of websites on a site by site, page by page, or any other basis you want to monitor. You should be aware of this capability and make the most of it because it is one of the most powerful tools that will help you find out which ads are performing best. By tracking your ads in this way, you can fine tune your Adsense ads and focus more on the ones being visited the most rather than those who are being ignored.
To really start making money with Adsense, you should have a definite focus on what you wanted to achieve and how you will go about achieving them. As with any other kind of business ventures, time is needed, coupled with patience. Tracking your results is just one small part of the time and patience puzzle.
Do not just ignore your website and the Adsense placed on it, once you have finished setting it up. Spare some time, even an hour, to make the necessary adjustments to the Adsense ads on your sites to quickly increase your Adsense income.
If you are just starting at this business and think you are doing pretty well already, you may be surprised by the results you start getting. Give it a try and you would not regret having gotten into Adsense in the first place.
However, there are more techniques and styles you can utilize to generate more clicks to double your earnings. By knowing these techniques and working them to your advantage, you will realize that you will be getting three times more than other people who have been previously doing what they are doing.
These topics will be the subject of future articles.
