The internet is full of programs which say that you can earn a significant income with ‘No Work’, ‘No Cost’, ‘No Sales’, ‘No Recruiting’ etc. We’ve all seen them and possible have fallen prey to their alluring sales messages and signed up… only to find they’re all lies. You always have to do some work, spend some money, make sales or whatever the program requires you to do if you want to make any money.
This is no different to setting up any form of company, it requires a lot of things to make it work, but to get straight to the main point, you need capital. To make money requires money as well, especially in the first instance
It is a shame that so many people, who decide to get involved with a business online, don’t realise this, or choose to ignore it. People who get started, expecting something for nothing and then give up, thinking that whatever they have become involved with is a scam. Unfortunately, this is the result of ignorance and in many cases over-hyped product sales letters, which prey on the gullibility of people new to the internet.
Whilst it may take some cold hard cash to get your internet business started, you do not have to spend tons of money to help it along. Traffic is the key to building a business, whether online or offline. It the one thing you can do, and do fairly cheaply or even free, that will eventually pay for itself.

Well, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness and willingness to put in the hard work. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do the work and research to generate more traffic for your site.

The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You know, when you sign up for the forum, what you are getting yourself into and you will be prepared, which offers a huge advantage to you.
With online forums and communities you can build a reputation for yourself, your website and your company. You can show the other members what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject. You can build a reputation and trust with the other members in your expertise and knowledge.
By building a good reputation, one in which you do not constantly try to sell to others, people will trust what you say and eventually what you offer for them to buy. Try not to come across as a ‘know-it-all’ but offer good sound advice and comments. By doing this you will compel your fellow forum members to click on the website link in your forum signature; if done correctly you will not need to hard sell them anything.
Another good area which you can use to build trust in you, your products and your company is in the use of newsletters.
Provide people with a catalogue of your products with interesting and entertaining articles about them and the area your product sits in. If you make your newsletter really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who sign up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.

This is a very easy idea to implement, which does not cost you anything. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster, who offers a similar product or is in the same area, or possibly in another area related or complimentary to your own. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.
By exchanging links, the efforts from both sites will benefit both sites. Every visitor who goes to the partner site could potentially click on the link to your site and vice versa.
Writing articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product is a well-known and well established method of generating traffic.
Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Product reviews are especially good, but make sure you have tried the product, so that you can talk about it honestly and informatively. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.
Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles. When your article is either read or picked up and used by another webmaster, there is always the chance they will click on the link in your resource box at the end of the article and land on your website.
When people find interest in your articles they want to find out where the article originated and possibly if there are any more on the subject or others they may be interested in. So it is important to include a link or a brief description of your company with the article.
Linked with writing informative and interesting articles is writing good content for your website.
It is not a requirement that any content should be written by a professional content writer. You could easily write your own, provided that you have to make content for your site that is entertaining as well as informational.
If you are good at writing articles, it is a good idea to publish each article on your website, as well as posting a copy to article directories for submission. To ensure that your website contains unique content, you should alter or re-write your article before submission, so that when other webmasters use it, it will not be the same as what is on your website.
As many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used, submitting slightly different articles to the ones you publish yourself, will mean the search engines will rank your site better as having unique content.
Generally, internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching to aid their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs. High search engine rankings means more traffic and visitors to your website, especially if you have provided informative and quality content and articles that the search engines are happy to use.
All of these methods and more will drive traffic to your site for free.
All it takes is a bit of effort, some hard work and extended man hours. Don’t expect to start an online business, or any business for that matter, without putting in these vital requirements.
