Today’s article is a about someone I had not heard of until Dr Jeffrey Lant, CEO Worldprofit, wrote this article. But Stanley Seeger is one of those people I wished I had known. He was rich beyond most people’s comprehension, owned and sold art and houses in a way most people can only dream of. But he was an unassuming, almost solitary character who did not announce his wealth to the world like many rich people do in a ‘look how much money I’ve got attitude’. I like rich people like Stanley Seeger, who just don’t feel the need to shove it in the faces of the lesser folk in the world.
I also like him because he gave so much back to charities and good causes, again without feeling the need to announce that he had done done so, he just gave because he could. He also bought and sold art and houses, his art collection included many of the most famous of painters, Picasso, Turner, Cezanne, many of whom I also enjoy, although I don’t yet own any of their works. His final resting place was in Whitby in Yorkshire, a place I know well, having lived near Whitby in Scarborough for a few years. He could not have chosen a more beautiful place to finally lay his head.
